Whole Foods Accepts #5 Plastics for Recycling

Share |

Blue_bin_small Good news! Those #5 yogurt cups you’ve been throwing out can now be recycled. Select Whole Foods markets will be accepting #5 plastic food containers for recycling on behalf of Preserve and their new ‘Gimme 5’ recycling program.

Preserve has teamed up with organic yogurt maker Stonyfield Farm, and Organic Valley to make the recycling program possible. Preserve is a company that creates household products out of 100 percent recycled plastics, and with the recycled containers they collect, will make new products like toothbrushes and tableware.

In case you aren’t sure which containers these include, look on any containers for yogurt, cottage cheese, hummus, medicine bottles, etc., for the 5 stamp. Preserve is also accepting Brita water filters for recycling.
